The course trains actors for the professional theatre and offers students an opportunity to develop and explore creative approaches to acting in a group environment that is supportive and fun. It features a Shakespearean Performance module specially designed for our unique outdoor amphitheatre.

Foundation/Development Course: Two-year Post-Leaving Certificate in Performance, with a particular strength in Musical Theatre. This course specialises in Acting and emphasises the value of live performance in the development of an actor. Formal training to a high standard is provided alongside rehearsal and production schedules, with three full productions each year.

Advanced/Professional Course: Two-year advanced Post-Leaving Certificate in Acting, covering 19th and 20th century theatre and contemporary performance. At Professional level in Year 2, students work towards a full Showcase presentation . The course includes a comprehensive Theatre in Education module. Students have the opportunity to audition for parts in a fully staged musical in each year of the programme.
Accreditation: FETAC Level 6 Classical Acting; Trinity College London / Guildhall Diploma in Performing (Associate / Licentiate - ATCL; LTCL).

Course: BA in Drama and Theatre Studies, BA Drama & Theatre Studies (International). This is a three/four-year Joint Honours programme within the Faculty of Arts. It provides students with a opportunity to become proficient in the history, theory and practice of drama and theatre as art forms, but to do so within a context where they are also pursuing another Arts subject to Honours degree level. This wide-ranging cross-disciplinary degree will provide students with the basis to go on to further work in a wide variety of fields, including the creative and interpretive arts, the media, arts administration, and education. The BA DTS (International) includes a year spent studying abroad at another third level institution.

Course: MA in Drama and Theatre. In this twelve month (90 credit) Masters programme students follow a shared introduction to issues and methodologies in drama & theatre research and then pursue one of three specialist strands of study: Advanced Theatre Practice; Applied Theatre and Drama; The Playwright in Contemporary Theatre. The programme concludes with a major practice-based or study-based research project.
